Today is my first day of Kindergarten. Mommy made me pancakes, yogurt and chocolate milk for breakfast. I wore my cool new birthday shirt from Miss Lidka (I need a belt to wear the shorts!). Mommy convinced me to let her and Luke walk me to my classroom. I was ready to just be dropped off at the curb! I walked in and saw a different teacher and told mommy, "Something is missing here". My teacher, Ms. G was not there since she had a family emergency and the nice lady I saw was my substitute teacher, Mrs. S. I found my hook (#14) and hung up my backpack. Mommy and Luke both gave me hugs and kisses before leaving. I was very brave and happy to be there so I didn't cry. Mommy was even smiling as she left my classroom. I guess the shock didn't set in until she got home. Thankfully Daddy and Grandma S were just a phone call away to console her. You'd think she'd be used to this school thing since I went to Pre-K last year. Mommy said there is just something about having your baby go off to Kindergarten. I reminded her that I am 5 years old now and she still has Luke to be her baby.
School was great. The best part was getting school lunch. I had a hamburger, orange, pineapple, and chocolate milk. Yummy. After lunch was my second favorite part, recess, where I got to see a few buddies from pre-K. School was a lot of fun. I am ready to go back tomorrow.
Here are a couple pictures from my first day of school! Enjoy!
